Every material behaves differently under the beam, and a few of them are genuinely dangerous. This is the cluster to read before you put something unfamiliar on the bed.
Most laser problems are material problems. A sheet that looks identical to the one that cut beautifully last week can char, melt, catch fire, or release something that damages both you and the machine. The single most valuable habit in laser work is knowing what you’re about to cut — and being willing to not cut it when you don’t.
